The Election is Over. What do the Results Reveal?

Thinking back upon the previous two posts, the focus was that the election results would reveal the ‘heart’ of the nation.

Where is the ‘heart’ of the nation?

The condition of the ‘heart’ of this nation changed the political landscape.

Mid-term elections are noted for that.

I will leave the reasons why to the political analysts.

Now what?

I revisit the concern of the past two posts.

Do we as a nation have a ‘diseased heart’?

I believe that we do.

The only One who can change our ‘diseased heart’ is Almighty God; His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit.

The issue of our ‘heart’ is the story of the redemption of mankind.

When I was told about the results of the election, my heart remained at peace.

The political upheaval in the natural kingdom did not cause an upheaval in the spiritual kingdom. (Hebrew 12:18-29)

I am, we are, as believers, citizens of the Kingdom of God; and the Lord Jesus Christ is our King.

Q: Was your peace ‘shaken’ when you were told the results of the election?

I am not criticizing you.

Jesus said to His disciples at the end of the Passover meal, finalizing His words to them, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation*; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33, NKJV)

The notes in my Study Bible, say: “Even in the midst of persecution there is a joyful peace in the certainty of Christ’s victory.”

*WORD WEALTH 16:33 tribulation, thlipsis (thlip-sis); Strong’s #2347: Pressure, oppression, stress, anguish, tribulation, adversity, affliction, crushing, squashing, squeezing, distress. Imagine placing your hand on a stack of loose items and manually compressing them. That is thlipsis, putting a lot of pressure on that which is free and unfettered. Thlipsis is like spiritual bench pressing. The word is used of crushing grapes in a press. (New Spirit-Filled Life Bible, c-2002, Thomas Nelson, Inc. , page 1474)

In the previous two posts, one of the points that was emphasized was this obvious fact.

The nation would have to live with the results of the election.

There are some who are ecstatic; there are some that mourn; there are some that are fearful; there are some that are self-assured.

As believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, what was your response?

__________

As outlined in the previous two posts, I am concerned for our nation.

The results of this election are not as I had hoped; but that does not surprise me.

Reflecting upon the results of this election, especially at the Federal level, in the Senate and House of Representatives, I can visualize the following.

I believe in the Sovereignty of God.

The scripture testifies to this absolute truth.

Therefore, when the newness of this election quiets down, if it ever really does; and the reality of the agenda that will be put forth in both the House and the Senate begins to be verbalized; bills written; discussed and debated; then the ‘hearts’ of many on both sides of the political isle, as well as the ‘hearts’ of the voting citizenry will be awakened to the truth that is being espoused by those who are against the freedoms in this nation, its Constitution, and its founding.

The lies, the deceit, and the false accusations will be exposed.

[Just like at the cross, the enemy thought it had won. Wrong! Jesus rose from the dead, and the enemy lost. Read the post: THE A.A.R.O.W. OF GOD]

Then the ‘diseased hearts’ will cry out for change.

Party affiliation will be cast aside, and the founding spirit of our nation will once again arise.

God answers the pleas of those crying out for truth.

Hopeful thinking, I do not think so.

Why?

I can ‘visualize’ the Sovereign Hand of God orchestrating all of this.

God has allowed the people to have what their ‘diseased hearts’ desired.

The nation is reaping what was sowed.

But, there are also ‘diseased hearts’ in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

There has been the cry of the Spirit of God to the Church since the beginning of 2026, about their ‘diseased heart’.

The Lord Jesus Christ, is preparing His Bride.

The Lord Jesus Christ, is making ready His Church to be a true and faithful witness of the testimony of His victory over death and the giving of Life through His death, burial, and resurrection.

It will all come to together in the fullness of God, the Father’s plan for this nation, and the nations of the world.

God is pouring out His Spirit in our nation.

Most of us, even the Church, are not aware of this outpouring, because we and the Church has been focused on the things of the world, and not focused upon the Lord Jesus Christ.

But that is going to change dynamically.

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is here and increasing.

It is time to re-focus on the Lord Jesus Christ.

The coming months will be tumultuous.

The time between now and the next presidential election will be like nothing we have ever seen before in this nation.

Why?

Because God is moving by His Spirit.
